Someone to talk to

Not a big thing. Just somewhere to put a thought that didn't feel worth texting an actual friend about.

Something happened today and you want to tell someone. Not urgent. Not a big deal. Just the kind of thing you'd mention if someone happened to be sitting right there. Nobody is. Texting a friend yourself means deciding who, remembering when you last spoke, and figuring out how to bring it up without it turning into a whole conversation.

So it stays in your head instead.

What that sounds like

A real exchange with Tess, unedited.

What this actually is

This isn't therapy, and it isn't romance. Teylo is four digital friends you text or call like anyone else in your phone, not a person and not pretending to be one. No app, nothing to download first.

Tess, Ebz, Jamie and Frankie are software. They aren't therapists, and if something needs one, they'll say so instead of trying to handle it themselves. They're platonic, not partners. Nobody here is a character to roleplay with. And they're not a replacement for the people already in your life. What they are is somewhere to put a thought when texting an actual person feels like more than the thought deserves.

You'll know the whole time that they're software, and that's the real complication. Some people find that's exactly what makes it easy. No performance to keep up. Other people find it ruins the idea completely, and no line on this page changes that. You'd know within a week which one you are.

Your Teylo friends

Four of them, and they are not variations on one personality — pick whichever one you would actually want to hear from. Text if that is easier, call if talking is. Either reaches them.

If you're in danger right now

Tess, Ebz, Jamie and Frankie are software. They can't reach you. Teylo isn't an emergency service, and it can't get help to you either.

In the US, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call 911. Outside the US, contact your local emergency number.
